Leading and enabling effective social service provision in Eastern Southland

If you need information or advice about support services, community services and groups, private office space, access to government agencies, free legal service, printing/scanning/photocopying, a new CV or a one stop place to view current local job opportunities - pop in to the Community Connections Centre.

The Community Networking Trust (Eastern Southland Inc) was set up in 2000 with a vision to support a healthy, resilient and connected community. Nineteen years on and the CNT continues to lead and enable effective social service provision in Eastern Southland. One of the primary initiatives was to provide a Centre where services could be located and accessed to enable better delivery.

The Community Connections Centre is a community facility for social sector providers and the community itself, enabling the delivery of services through leadership, support, networking and advocacy.

Congratulations to all the nominees, and winners of the 2019 Youth Awards. Here are a few snaps from the night courtesy of the Gore District Council. Full results can be found here

Teenagers Hamish Goatley and Lucy Swain were the Gore District Council Supreme Award senior and junior winners respectively at this year's Gore Youth Awards.

The St James Theatre was almost full for the evening of celebration of the District's youth. The Awards is about young people in the community, aged between 12 years and 24 years, who aren't typically recognised by mainstream award ceremonies.

Guest MC and speaker was double gold medal Paralympian blade-runner Liam Malone, who delivered an inspiring speech - short video below

Who is Liam Malone? Check out the video below to get some insight in to this inspiring young man - what a great role model for our tamariki and rangitahi; raw, honest, vulnerable and determined Liam shares a glimpse of his journey
